Salted Caramel Apple Crumble Cake.
This cake is made with my eldest daughter in mind. If she sees salted caramel anything on the menu, that will most likely be her choice. And apple crumble is her most requested dessert. Hence I made this cake on her birthday and my friend requested for this same cake again.

This is certainly not what I would consider a styled photo of the cake I've made but I'm putting it here for posterity sake.

The background - the fridge, whom my husband agreed to get, allowed me to indulge in cake artistry to a whole new level.
Through baking, I realised I'm able to have a creative outlet; it's merely changing the medium of art. In school it was pencil and paints, then I moved on to using my body in theatre, subsequently metals and stones in jewellery designing. Now my kitchen is my art studio, with cake and cookies as canvas and cream and chocolate as paints. Sometimes I even get to do mixed medium collage and art installation! 😜

To all you creatives (and myself), never stop experimenting!

I can't even count the number of times I've tried to improve this Double Chocolate Cookies. Dutched cocoa, natural cocoa, 54% chocolate callets, 70% chocolate callets, semi-sweet chocolate chips... I have tried so many variations!

But this one, this one I am most well-pleased! Slightly thicker, chewier, and so much more chocolatey with better quality cocoa powder and chocolate callets. Only made better by a light sprinkle of Maldon Sea salt on top.

Taking a break from blue skies and water, here is a lovely chocolate dessert I tried at @muutodesign. It's raspberry marshmallow creme and marzipan encased in a semi-sweet chocolate shell with some freeze-dried raspberry on top. A little sweeter than my usual but the flavour is a delight!
